CreateLixir was designed so you always know how your AI usage translates into cost. Credits are the single unit that measures AI work across the platform — from a Prompt Workspace conversation to generating a full AI Architect blueprint. The rest of the platform — workspaces, editing, browsing, integrations, uploads — is always free of Credit charges.

This page is the definitive reference for how Credits work today and how they will work as CreateLixir grows.

Credits are the AI compute resource used by CreateLixir whenever artificial intelligence performs work on your behalf. They are not required to use the platform itself — they are consumed only when CreateLixir performs AI-powered operations. Think of Credits as fuel for AI.

Examples of AI work

2. creating software architecture with the AI Architect;
3. AI conversations inside the Prompt Workspace;
4. code generation across the Code Studio;
5. documentation generation and refactoring;
6. debugging assistance and code review;
7. design generation inside Design Studio;
8. testing assistance, coverage analysis, and bug reproduction; and
9. AI Engineering Team task execution and orchestration.

Four principles guide every decision we make about the Credit system.

Every AI action follows the same sequence. Credits are never deducted without your explicit confirmation.

5. 05Credits are deducted from your balance.

Actions can be cancelled before confirmation without any Credit charge. Even actions that complete return an itemised usage entry so you can trace exactly what was consumed.

The table below summarises typical Credit costs for common AI operations. Real costs are estimated in the moment based on the selected model, context size, and expected response length.

Why costs vary

Actual Credit costs may vary depending on:

1. the AI model selected for the action;
2. the size of the context connected inside the Context Manager;
3. the complexity of the underlying project;
4. the length and depth of the expected response; and
5. future advanced capabilities such as tool use, streaming, and multi-agent collaboration.

Anything performed manually by the user is always free. Credits are only consumed when AI computation is invoked. The entire platform surface remains usable without a single Credit spent.

Every CreateLixir subscription includes a monthly Credit allocation. Larger plans include more Credits and unlock higher context sizes for AI operations.

If your monthly Credits are exhausted, you don’t need to upgrade your subscription. You can purchase additional Credits at any time. Purchased Credits are added directly to your account balance.

Buy Credits is coming soon. Once available, purchases will be reflected on your Credit Dashboard immediately after payment confirmation.

Every subscription includes a monthly Credit allowance. Your monthly Credits refresh automatically at the beginning of each billing cycle. Unused monthly Credits do not roll over — purchased Credits do not expire and remain on your account until spent.

The Credit Dashboard gives you complete visibility into your Credit balance and usage. It becomes available alongside the Buy Credits surface.

Before every AI action, CreateLixir displays a compact estimation card showing exactly what a run will cost.

This ensures complete transparency before Credits are ever consumed. If you dismiss the estimation, nothing is charged.

A few practical habits go a long way toward stretching your Credit balance.

Unlimited plans are protected by a Fair Usage Policy. This ensures consistent platform performance for every customer. Fair Usage is designed to prevent abuse rather than limit legitimate usage, and most customers will never encounter restrictions.

Where sustained usage indicates automation, scraping, or activity inconsistent with individual professional use, CreateLixir may apply throttling, temporary rate limits, or targeted enforcement. Where such action is taken you will be notified in-product and offered a path to resolve the underlying condition.
